Einige der Kunstwerke stehen dort gleich drau\u00dfen herum oder sind durch Schaufenster sichtbar. F\u00fcr andere muss man Ladengesch\u00e4fte, Einkaufszentren oder \u00c4hnliches betreten. Zum Beispiel das Hotel Rheinfelder Hof, wo die chinesische K\u00fcnstlerin Yu Ji im Bankettsaal eine r\u00e4tselhafte Szenerie arrangiert hat. Sperrm\u00fcll-Spiegel hingen von der Decke, Betonskulpturen von menschlichen K\u00f6rperteilen kauerten \u00fcber und auf Sitzgelegenheiten. Ihr 30. Jubil\u00e4um feierte die Messe f\u00fcr internationale Gegenwartskunst in diesem Jahr unter der Leitung ihrer neuen Direktorin Nikola Dietrich. Diese lockerte die Ausstellungsarchitektur auf und auch die Auswahl der Galerien. Ganze 48 internationale Galerien gaben 2025 ihr Deb\u00fct auf der Messe. Mein Favorit war eine davon: Turnus aus Warschau, gegr\u00fcndet erst 2020 von Kamila Fal\u0119cka und Marcelina Gorzynska als Caf\u00e9, Ausstellungsort und Shop. Stundenlang konnte man sich dort durch 100 R\u00e4ume durcharbeiten, vorbei an raumeinnehmenden Installationen, Zeichnungen, Gem\u00e4lden und Skulpturen, an zartem Schmuck, einem Casino, einer Blutbank und einem Nail-Salon, an performativen Arbeiten, ultrajungen Positionen, Klassikern der Moderne \u2013 und vielen anderen Menschen. Die absolute Reiz\u00fcberflutung war das. Weniger \u00fcberf\u00fcllt als der Basel Social Club, nicht weniger sehenswert, eine kleine Oase mit h\u00fcbschem Garten, der sich f\u00fcr eine Verschnaufpause anbot.
