Erzähler und Randfiguren

In the works “Dispersing Into” and “Erzähler und Randfiguren”, Denker documents the disappearance of a mushroom on paper in co-production with Larven.

The original desire to print with lamellar fungi gave rise to this work rather by chance. The mushroom, initially set aside for printing, develops a life of its own over the course of several days. Removed from its habitat, the climatic changes in the studio cause larvae that were already in the mushroom to dissolve it. What remains are traces of decomposition. The moment of disappearance, which can also be applied to human existence, becomes particularly tangible in this work.
