The drawing was created as a sketch for possible plaster figures – suffragettes – for my consumer library in the Kunsthalle Göppingen. The question of our “ideal” attitude towards consumption has been on my mind “forever”. Consumption – we love it, we adore it and curse it, it is our “drug”. Our boundless greed for material things is how we subjugate ourselves and the world. Although we all know that the most valuable things in life cannot be bought – they are given to us as a gift.

Happily enraptured as an attitude “in, to” consumption.
