Untitled (Poster)

The reference to aesthetic rules is the basis of Tim Bohlender’s abstract formal language. Letters or whole words often serve as the starting point for his paintings. The poster designed for the WERKstattPALAST is based on a page from an Ikebana book, which the artist has expanded with abstract forms. The seemingly strict compositional rules of the flower arrangement are suspended by this intervention and thus expanded is exemplary of the artist’s approach.
