A diagrammatic work that deals with the disappearance of insects. Insects are the fabric that holds together every freshwater and terrestrial ecosystem in the world.¹ In German nature reserves, the biomass of flying insects has declined by more than 75% in 27 years.² And according to a study published in the journal Biological Conservation in February 2020, 5 to 10% of all insect species worldwide have become extinct in the last 150 years - that's between 250,000 and 500,000 species.³ The decline of insects is not due to a single cause; they are exposed to several threats at the same time. These range from habitat loss and industrial agriculture to climate change.4 The global community has been committed to insect conservation for decades. But little action has been taken and all international targets have so far been missed.The losses continue, but as the pollinators disappear, so do the predators...
