Francesca Romana Audretsch
CURATION AND NETWORK
Francesca Romana Audretsch has a degree in exhibition design and scenography from the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design. She lives and works in Vienna. She is a curious researcher, restless thinker and creative designer whose artistic practice and critical thinking deals with body reflection, gender politics and sustainable and solidary living spaces. She works enthusiastically in collective communities and develops new approaches to conscious, sustainable coexistence. Francesca Romana researches and develops practices of art mediation within exhibition spaces. She understands curating as a processual action that opens up new political spaces of possibility through an aesthetic and physical experience and critically questions social constructs.
How do we humans relate to our world and our human and non-human “partners in crime”? What do we expect from contemporary life? In a world marked by genocides, mass deaths, radicalization and violence, how can we enable a common, terrestrial world politics? How can we create an awareness and urgency to reorganize and recompose politics, science and art? How can art be practiced and experienced as an engine of research?
At a glance
About curiosities in mentalities of hospitality; testing and supporting everything that belongs to discursive, contentious, cultural, political, ecological, curiosity-generating formats! To get to know and understand the awareness of 'being in the world'; to develop and try out an aesthetic/artistic mediation practice and to repeatedly illuminate it processually, resiliently and critically; my companion species in the social struggle for an ecologically caring and communally thinking world of tomorrow: humor, courage, curiosity and confidence.
