Valentina Jaffé

Valentina Jaffé (*1990, born in Bad Dürkheim) works interdisciplinarily at the intersection of painting, collage, and sculpture. She studied from 2011 to 2015 at the Academy of Fine Arts Karlsruhe under Ernst Caramelle and Nora Schultz. Jaffé's works are characterized by layering: they engage with, within, and between their media and materials, exploring their properties and becoming a paradoxical play with states. Capturing these relationships is Jaffé's attempt to grasp temporal superimpositions. The artist lives and works in Mannheim. In 2024, she served as a juror for the Hans-Purrmann Foundation's emerging artist award. In both 2021 and 2024, she was nominated for the Young Palatinate Prize for Fine Arts, as well as for the Emy Roeder Prize at the Ludwigshafen Art Association in 2020. In 2022, she won the "Junge Kunsst" award in Neustadt. In 2017, she received the Contemporary Art Prize and exhibited internationally in Germany, France, and Italy. She is also a board member of the Bad Dürkheim Art Association.
