Haus Marlene Poelzig Bookrelease
Berlin, Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Kino Babylon – you are warmly invited!
For the past four years, ato has been a partner and supporter of the Haus Marlene Poelzig initiative. In close collaboration, we have accompanied the creation of the publication Haus Marlene Poelzig, Berlin – Demolition and Departure.
The book will be published in June by Urbanophil Verlag. Featuring contributions from over 20 authors, it sheds light on the architect and artist Marlene Poelzig and the themes closely linked to her work. The starting point is the residential and studio house in Berlin-Grunewald, which she designed for herself and her family in 1929–1930, but which was demolished in 2021. Through a carefully composed walk through the now-destroyed building, the book turns its rooms into questions—addressed to architectural and art history, to the treatment of built heritage, and to feminist perspectives in (building) art.
Open event – no registration required, free admission.
