Can I lease a work of art?

Why should you buy art online?
The opportunity to view and buy art online has never been greater.
Art museums make their exhibitions accessible in virtual tours on the Internet and galleries have also specialized in online sales, especially in recent years. This brings with it many opportunities to buy art, but can also be very overwhelming - where to start and can art in virtual space replace the art experience in real space?
The idea of online galleries is to offer art nationwide, reach more potential buyers and provide low-threshold access to art. However, running an online gallery also has the advantage of being particularly cost-effective, as there are no fixed costs, for example. Ultimately, this leads to a wider range of art on the internet. Artists who have found it difficult to be represented by a conventional gallery are now becoming visible. Buyers are often "spoiled for choice" because finding the right online art platform is not that easy. Good online art platforms are characterized by the fact that they have a high-quality curated selection of artworks, offer personal advice in addition to online sales and also make it possible to experience art in real life, e.g. in the form of exhibitions. This ensures that interested buyers can come into contact with artists and the artworks.
How does an online gallery work?
Online galleries are often geared towards art that is in the mid-price segment. Many platforms, including ato, pursue the strategy of an online shop in which prices are advertised transparently. This reduces barriers when buying artworks, as in conventional galleries the prices of artworks are only revealed in a personal conversation with the gallery owner. Online trading enables various payment systems and some providers also make it easy to pay in installments. With ato, it is also possible to lease artworks for a certain period of time and thus bring even more variety into your home.

As an art platform, we aim to provide and sell high-quality contemporary art. We have designed our business model online from the outset, but the real experience of art, for example at exhibitions, is still an important component for us.
