ato is an innovative art gallery that showcases and sells contemporary works by both emerging and established artists. We focus on a personal approach: our art agents offer tailored advice to buyers and help break down barriers—making art accessible even to newcomers. We’re redefining the role of the gallery by representing artists in a holistic way—not just through their works, but through their ideas as well. Our agency harnesses this creativity to develop fresh impulses, for example, in collaboration with companies.

Introducing: Maike Denker

Born in 1982, artist Maike Denker studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig from 2009 to 2016. In her work, she explores forms, colors, and living organisms found in nature. A daily walk is part of her artistic practice. As an attentive observer, meticulous collector, and sometimes even a curious child, she discovers structure and beauty in nature. She draws on a deep knowledge of biological phenomena and biodiversity, which is evident not least in her studio. Her art is thus an interplay of observation, collection, and natural chance.

Denker lives and works in Münster. In recent years, she has spent time abroad on several occasions, including at the Royal College of Art (London), the University of Applied Arts (Vienna), and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (Copenhagen).

At ato, the artist is represented by art agent Norina Quinte.
